We always hear to drink half our body weight, in ounce, of water every day. Great advice if you are REALLY dehydrated. Your exhaustion may be from TOO much water. If your water intake is too high, your thyroid and adrenal glands are getting exhausted processing all of that water.
Goal: As an adult, it is good to work your way up to 2 liters of filtered water (avoid tap water) every day. The brain alone consists of 90% water. In other words, your entire system of cells and fluids remains in a delicate, but controlled state of homeostasis when you keep yourself hydrated. BUT when you are cold, especially in the hands in feet, your urine is clear, the urge to urinate is strong, or you are peeing frequently, YOU NEED TO EAT MORE AND DRINK LESS. When you are hot, especially in the hands and feet, your urine is dark or you haven’t peed in a really long time, YOU NEED TO EAT LESS AND DRINK MORE.
