Everyone probably has that relative who just looooves to pass gas all the time! You may even have a nickname for that person. Here is the real story about that gas:
If your digestive system is not processing proteins correctly, an organic gas builds up from the proteins rotting. The acid starts to erode in the stomach. This is due to the lack of hydrochloric acids, not because of eating meats, per se.
If it is protein that is rotting, the process is called putrefaction. If it is carbohydrate that is rotting, the process is called fermentation. If fat is rotting, it is called rancification. If the stomach environment has the appropriate hydrochloric acid and pepsin, the putrefaction, fermentation, or rancification will not happen. If other words, if the foods is digested properly, there is no rotting.
